About Us

The Rea Company began in 1958, when Donald Devoe Rea founded Donald D. Rea and Company. The firm began with Donald and his sister in-law providing clerical assistance.

Shortly thereafter, the Company moved to downtown Los Angeles, California.

The business grew rapidly, providing Human Resources and Labor Relations consulting services as well as an unemployment administration service exclusively to management. In 1964, the Company incorporated and had three full-time consultants together with support staff.

In 1967, the Company moved its offices to Hollywood, California where the Company remained for 17 years.

Patrick Rea, the current President, joined the firm in 1974 following graduation from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, with a degree in Business Administration and a Labor Relations concentration and after protracted negotiations with his father began buying the Company in 1979.

In 1984, the Company moved to its current location which is located in Burbank, California.

In 1990 the name of the Company was officially changed to The Rea Company.

Today, the Company continues to provide Human Resources and Labor Relations consulting services. COBRA administration services together with the Unemployment Administration services continue to be offered since the forming of the Company.

The Company continues to thrive following the same principles held dear by Don Rea and instilled in each person whom his life touched. Don, a Rotarian, Optimist and father of four, preached: honesty, integrity, intestinal fortitude, professionalism, fairness and hard work.

Today, The Rea Company represents some 50 Companies, small and large, local and national, union and non-union in all but the construction industry. From heavy manufacturing, to computer software development to medical laboratories, The Rea Company has the experience and a track record of continuing success to fulfill any organizations needs.
